    At International College of Cosmetology, we understand that returning to school or just start a new career it might feel like a huge undertaking – especially when you need to find a way to pay for it. That’s why we offer financial aid options for students who qualify. Take a look at the resources available on our web site, or contact us to learn more about your financial aid options. International College of Cosmetology is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences (NACCAS) and Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE). 

    To apply for your Pell eligibility you must complete the FAFSA at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ If your application requires your parents' information, both you and your parent must have a valid PIN. You may sign up for your federal PIN at http://www.pin.ed.gov/PINWebApp/pinindex.jsp

    Please do not wait until your application is accepted by the Department of Education to visit International College of Cosmetology. We can assist you through the questions about your financial aid by meeting with our Admissions office. You must remember, however, that you will need a high school diploma or GED. If you received a home school diploma, you will need the California State Board of Cosmetology to approve your transcript prior to applying for your initial state license.     If for some reason you are not qualify for a full Pell grant or not qualify for Financial Aid. We have long-term payment plans that has NO INTEREST while you attending school or out of school.

    Financial Aid is available to those who qualify, most International College of Cosmetology students use Financial Aid to help pay for their school. Follow these easy steps to get started right now!!

    Step 1- GET A PIN

    • Go online to www.pin.ed.gov and create a Pin for your online Financial Aid application (FAFSA)
    • If you are a dependent* student, your parent will also need to create a Pin to complete the Financial Aid application (FAFSA)
    • Your Pin will be ready to use immediately

    Step 2 - GET ORGANIZED

    • You need your Federal and State tax return.
    • If you are a dependent student you will need your parents Federal and State tax return.

    Step 3- FILLING OUT A FAFSA APPLICATION

    • Fill out your FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov
    • Choose our school code - International College of Cosmetology School Code #041456
    • Sign electronically with your Pin


    Please contact us 48-72 hours after submitting your FAFSA to schedule an appointment with a Financial Aid Advisor.     How can I schedule a tour?
    There is no other way then to touching, seeing and feeling ICOC before you started! We strongly recommend touring our campuses and meeting our staff and future professionals. Please call our admissions staff to schedule a tour.

    Where can I find information about financial aid offered at International College of Cosmetology?
    As accredited schools, we offer federal student aid to those who qualify. Please contact the admissions office for more information or start your financial aid application at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

    What will it cost to attend International College of Cosmetology?
    Depending on your career goals, the programs vary in length and cost.  Our Financial Aid office stands ready to assist you in determining your eligibility for Federal Financial Aid including Pell Grants or NO INTEREST with long-term payment plans available. Financial Aid can substantially offset your out-of-pocket costs.

    Is your school accredited?
    Yes, International College of Cosmetology is accredited by Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) and ICOC is Proudly accredited by Nationally Accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences, (NACCAS) which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Accreditation. There are different benefits in attending a school that is nationally accredited.

    Why should I attend an accredited college?
    Accreditation is a long-recognized method of measuring quality in education, school administration, staff qualifications and student services. Accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as the recognized benchmark of a quality education. Colleges and universities must maintain accreditation in order for its students to be eligible for federal (Title IV) student aid programs.  Financial aid is available to students who qualify.

    How old do I have to be able to enroll?
    You have to be 16 years of age. But you have to be at least 17 years old to apply for the State Board Examination. You will also need to have your parent or guardian as a co-signer on your application.

    Do ICOC only offer courses in English?
    No, most of our instructors are bilingual, such as in Spanish, Vietnamese and Chinese. All of our courses materials are in English and Spanish but we try our best to translated into Vietnamese and Chinese for those wishes to study in these any languages.

    How can I pay for school? Is financial aid available?
    We have staff of financial aid advisors to assist you. We have many different options from individualized payment plans to helping you apply to many types of funding (depending on your qualifications) from Pell grant. Long-term payment plans and scholarships. To able to apply for Financial aid, the following information you will need to have, Last two years of tax returns and W-2 or the applicant’s parents W-2 if under 24 years old. Please Call our financial aid office and we’ll work through it together.

    Which classes I can qualify for financial aid?
    Cosmetology, Esthetician, and Teacher Training.

    If I dot not qualify for financial aid, what other options I may have?
    We have other financing options and long-term payment plans available for you. Please call us to find out more!

    When is the next class beginning?
    We have new classes starting each Tuesday. Please visit us and schedule a tour at our campuses.

    Do you offer part-time / full-time and evening classes? 
    Yes! We offer both F/T and P/T as well. We have flexible schedule. We require you must attend school at least 16 hours per week for P/T and F/T 32 hours per week. ICOC is now forming evening classes start in June Tuesday to Saturday 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. 

    What do I need to have to able to enroll in the program?
    You will need a valid driver’s license or government issued photo identification. Social Security Card, Green Card or Certificate of Naturalization. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Don't worry, if you don't have H.S Diploma or GED, you can take the Ability to Benefit test (ATB) to be eligible.

    What if I decide to cancel?
    We will give you five (5) business days to cancel for any reason and receive a full refund. Except the registration fee. After the five business day period, the refund amount will be prorated depending on how many hours you have attended at ICOC.
