    Applicant must have a high school Diploma or its equivalent. (GED, California State Proficiency Test, Etc.) also, pass an admission test at International College of Cosmetology. This school uses the CPAT Test students must pass the test with Language Usage (42), Reading (43) and Numerical (41) therefore a minimum scaled score of 126; as stated in the test publisher guidelines. School personel will administer this testing. All students must have completed the 10th grade or its' equivalent as required by the California State Board of Cosmetology to be eligible to take the State Board examination.

    Non-High School graduates or its equivalent, seeking Federal financial assistance will be require to take Ability to Benefit Test. The test is consist of Verbal and Quantitative sections of the WBST have a testing time limit of 20 minutes each, an additional 10 minutes is required to complete the demogaphic information on the answer sheet. Practice items can be completed in 5 minutes. The U.S. Department of Edcuation has mandated that all ATB applicants taking the WBST to qualify for Title IV Federal Financial Assistance must achieve a verbal score no less than 200 and a quantitative score no less than 210. Only test scores appearing on the WBST indivdual ATB score report provided by the independent test administrator approve by Wonderlic ATB program. If student does not achieve this score, he/she will have an option to be retested. The student must have a waiting period of at least 30 days between the last test date. 

    Our school's admissions advisor will provide applicants with additional information as to how to arrange for the required Ability to Benefit Test. (ATB) 

    Student may begin training at 16 years of ages, but must be at least 17 years old in order to take the California State Board Examination. Applicants enrolling in the Teacher Training course must also possess a High School Diploma or GED or its equivalent and a current Cosmetology license. We can not accept enrollment based on Ability to Benefit.
